10 year olds trying to act "grownup"

A group of kids in my D10 grade are growing up way too fast. They aren't anyone shes close friends with (anymore, but I'm glad, mean girl drama). One of the girls is wearing thongs, yes, thongs to school because shes worried about visible panty lines under her clothes. Repeat, they are 10 years old. Another group is attending weekend sporting events with their older siblings and a group of friends, boys and girls. Normally I'd think that's great, I think its really important to have male/female friendships throughout your life. But... a few of the younger kids have teen siblings and I just learned they are going without parent supervision (both ages). I work in a school, I hear an insane amount if gossip but I also hear a lot of concerns directly from the kids. Apparently the older siblings (teens) are leaving the game to make out & give blow jobs outside. The younger kids "can't wait to be teenagers". My kid isn't interested in hanging out with them but I can tell she's wondering what the appeal of the "cool kids" is. I don't know the parents well. The few I do know are very hands off, little rules, consequences or limits. Ugh. I'm very open with my kid, we talk about age appropriate experiences, sexual education, health, bullying and how to navigate friendships. But geez. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2vmABdL
