Super proud moment

I'm lucky enough to work a 9/80 schedule, meaning I get every other Friday off. Today was that off Friday. To give my wife some extra time to help set up her classroom, I took the kiddo to daycare in the morning with the promise that mommy will pick her up in the afternoon. No problem.Well, there was a problem: my wife got a horrific migraine and had to have her mom take her to urgent care. So, after checking off 90% of the honey-do list, I go and pick up the kiddo from daycare. I was expecting some pushback because I am, obviously, "not the mama".Nope. Instead, she ran up to me and shouted "MY DADDY!" She then had me pick her up and announced to her class "No, my daddy! My daddy!" While patting my chest. She claimed me in front of everyone and gat dayum was it hard not to shed some happy tears.Of course, she also just claimed my pillow in bed, but hey, you take the little victories, right? via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2KnVoBO
