Sorry if this post is a bit long, I'll try and give as much info as possible. So my 7 year old daughter has a type of asthma that causes a bit of tiredness and shortness of breath (although I haven't heard that when we go out play). She lives with her mum and then with me every other weekend and Wednesday. She's also got allergies to Birchwood trees which causes sneezing and runny nose. These symptoms are usually mild and barely cause her much inconvenience.Doctors have prescribed the usual asthma medications ventoline and cortizon. She's also been having allergy injections which are supposed to completely eradicate the allergy. Also had a test for animal allergies but that came up negative. So over the last 3.5 years me and my girlfriend have moved in together and we have one little dog and a few pet rats. Never seen any problems apart from the occasion sneezes usually coinciding with the seasons. As the allergy injections aren't working they have been asking (to my ex) do we have pets and plants. So they want to do another test for animal allergies. This has me worried yet again. As a few years ago my ex was adamant that our daughter was getting sick from being at my place even though she had no symptoms at all. Then it was "you going to have to choose between your daughter or the dog". At the time we didn't live with my girlfriend and the dog.Am I worrying too much? Now that my daughter is so close to our dog (she sees him as her little brother) can they take him away from us?I can't imagine that the test would come up positive. 99% of the time my daughter doesn't have any issues and is full of energy. A bit of sneezing here and there in the morning and then nothing..Sorry that was long. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/34nkHMq
