So I am not currently planning on having any children (I’m only 23) and I have plenty of time to make these decisions. However I was having a discussion with my coworker about future kids because she’s pregnant now and I mentioned that I honestly would much rather have a surrogate than be pregnant myself. She acted like this was a selfish decision. I have PCOS and endometriosis and my chances of having a successful healthy pregnancy are slim, but not completely impossible. I’d have to go off birth control too which would throw my hormones out of whack and I would likely start experiencing hair loss and acne and all kinds of fun things. My mom had 3 miscarriages before she had me and she had to have a hysterectomy after having me because she also dealt with similar health issues. If sometime in the future I decide I want a family I would really like to use a surrogate to have a biological child without putting my body through fertility issues. Is this selfish and completely unreasonable? via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/34nQv3N
