My daughter is just turning 21 mo old and just this past weekend has become utterly terrified of shiny floors. We were at a department store and all of a sudden she noticed the reflection of the lights on the floor and LOST IT. She would happily run around the carpet but would yell "up please! " If we stepped into the shiny floor to coax her out. This has now extended to being wary of our shiny hardwood (all of the floors in our house) and she even got some wariness from our basement floor where she can see her shadow. She now inspects floors for safety before stepping foot on them and it's obviously causing her stress.I think this started two weeks ago when she was standing in a small covered bridge and noticed the stream through the slats. How do we go about helping her through this? We tried coaxing her, stomping on the floor, holding her hand and having her touch the floor with her finger. She just melts down and keeps adding new floors to the unacceptable list. She went from a kid that loves stomping in puddles to not being able to walk on wet roads. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/34lfrJ8
