Pretty much the title. Three year old wouldnt eat her dinner. A couple nights a week we have ice cream for dessert, this being one of those nights. We went back and forth with her for 20 minutes, we tried all the normal things: "does it go in your ear? Does it go in your nose?" Kinda stuff that usually works. She wouldnt even try it. We eventually told her if she didnt eat some of her meal she wouldnt get her ice cream. She perked up at that and kept saying she wanted ice cream, but still wouldnt eat it. Another ten minutes of this goes by. I eventually give up and tell her she's not getting ice cream. I take her plate into the kitchen and scrape it into the trash, got myself some ice cream and ate it right in front of her. She cried, which ultimately brought me here, but I stood my ground and told her next time, eat her dinner and she'll get ice cream. If she doesn't eat she doesn't get ice cream. Was this a bad parenting move? I would have been more lenient if she had eaten some and just didn't like it but she wouldn't even try it. Am I in the wrong here? via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2QP3aca
