I (f19), am the oldest of three kids (f16, m7) in our household, so I’ve taken the brunt of just about every hurtful thing I can from my parents. And out of all the of the hurtful disgusting things that they’ve said to me, I can truthfully tell you that nothing hurts us more then when you we are attacked over things that are out of our control and are things we should NEVER be attacked for (ex. Being a girl). Things my dad has said: “if only you were a guy then maybe I would respect you more”. Things my mom has said: “that’s not something a girl should say, act, dress, etc.Overall message: the more you attack who we are the more we will distance ourselves from you. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2DjQD8C
