How long will anxiety after street robbery last?

My happy, confident 16-year-old has had his phone taken off him twice in less than a week. He wasn't hurt on either occasion, but threatened unpleasantly. He knows that he did the right thing by handing his phone over, but these experiences, happening so close together, have left him seriously anxious. He told me that he is nervous out on the street all the time, even in the morning rush hour on the way to school. He knows that these things happen living in London (all his friends have had similar experiences) and knows that he was just unlucky that lightning struck twice so soon. Does anyone have any similar experience with their kids and any advice that I can share with him? I am sure that this will pass in time, but it's horrible to see him so tense and anxious. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2NRqmVa
