So my son since the age of two at his check has been having speech therapy. It has now progressed to an actual specialist and at first I laughed at how simple the things she gave us to do were, but now we are having a complete explosion of speech and I am so relieved and emotional! It has been 7 months now and at the start he couldn't even point to an animal in a book and say pig. Now he is getting excited and saying sentences like "put shoes on" "I don't want to" and copying things like that constantly. The speech therapist is so impressed with my son, she said he is so polite and kind, he sits and waits his turn while other kids run off with her props for activities and he also does all the cues and says the right things 90% of the time!I have gone from being so worried about him not speaking and feeling like it's my fault to so proud and happy that he now can communicate and gets so excited when he can get his wants across!Just had to share a little update, especially for those going through the same as it can be so daunting at first! (plus if anyone wants any of the activities we think have been working the best I would be happy to share and try to help as this speech therapist is so good) via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2OhljMB
