I'm a single dad with an 8 year old boy and he expressed to me last night that he's sad because he doesn't have a best friend. He said he wishes he had someone to play with and that just about broke my heart. I'm here for him always but it's literally just us and I completely understand him wanting to be around more kids. It's just rough because I feel like it's harder to approach parents about having your kids hang out as a man. It's pretty much exclusively mom's picking up their kids at school and I don't want to be brushed off as a guy who is using his kid to get to the mom or something. Also, I had my son when I was 17 and all of my friends are just now starting to have their kids and there's a big age gap. I'm really at a loss, guys. How do I help my boy out? I don't want him to feel like this anymore. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2CFeCP1
