Okay-to-wake and the potty

Hey parents! I have a 2.5 yo son who is fully daytime potty trained. At night, we use those 360 pampers diapers. We have recently started using an okay-to-wake clock so I could have some time to wake up in the morning. He loves his clock, and knows all the light signals. Recently, to get our attention, our son tells us he needs to use the potty over his video monitor. We sit him on the potty... AND HE NEVER GOES. It's incredibly frustrating to feel manipulated by him. He has his own bathroom, but he isnt ready for the door to be open and him in his room on his own quite yet. So we have to lock it at night. This pattern has been going on since training him on the clock.I dont want to give in to him and give him the attention. But I also dont want to deny him the potty.
