Teenage son's mental state is deteriorating

My wife and I adopted our sone through a foster-to-adopt program when he was 11. He has some traumas in his past and has pretty severe ADHD. He is very intelligent, the school in 6th grade wanted to put him in pre-ap classes, but he refused to consider it.His anger is getting worse. About once a month he has a blowout when we ask him to do a chore(dishes, which he is supposed to do twice a week). Tonight led to him kicking a hole in his walls and screaming at my wife. He always regrets his actions, but shows little desire to learn how to control himself. We have tried to get him into good mental health programs. He blows off his therapist and puts on a show that everything is fine. He volunteered to go to a teen counseling group that met 3 times a week. But a week later told us he wasn't taking it seriously since treatment "doesn't even work". This was confirmed by the staff there. My wife is considering looking at treatment centers, which led me to r/troubledteens. We live in one of them Conservative Religious States which makes that idea extra dangerous for him, so fuck that.It feels like everything keeps failing him, including me. I don't know what to do. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2HlNOWW
