Older parents

So I have twins from doing a round of IVF. It took 2.5 years to conceive them. I am 38 about to be 39 at the end of the year. I haven't been on birth control for 4.5 years and during that time zero pregnancy scares. I didn't think I could conceive naturally.My period was a week late, I thought maybe premenopausal, hormone fluctuations etc. And was waiting for my period. Had a little spotting, still no period. Decided to buy a pregnancy test...boom pregnant!!!! I am in complete and utter shock!!!!!!!! I'm about 5 weeks.I'm scared about being older and pregnant. I also had a horrible postpartum hemorrhage and almost died. 8 blood transfusions, kidney failure. So I'm also terrified. I don't want to die and leave my living kids behind.Can anyone offer insight on being an older parent? Major birth complications?Thank you! via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2S8grLh
