My little guy is 9, and a great kid. He had C's in reading and Math on his last report card, so I am determined to do 15min of math a day during the Summer, and to read a bit of his favorite books with him every day as well. I don't rush him, I'm kind and encouraging, i explain that it will make school easier in September, but he just loathes having to do it during the Summer.
