Making the switch

Today we had her 1 month appointment. Everything's going great, she gained a pound between this one and her last weight check 2 weeks ago. However, between my nipple issue(inversion) and her being easily frustrated we had to go to pumping only somewhere around day 4 of life. At day 29, i stopped getting anything out.I've talked with so many lactation consultants about breastfeeding and keeping my supply up. It just never stuck. Nothing they told me worked.I voiced my concerns with her pediatrician. He told me that stress from trying to pump enough for her to not need formula anymore could be being passed through the milk. He advised me to decide if it was worth it to me to continue to try pumping so she can have both breast milk and formula.I made the tough decision. And i know not everyone is going to agree with me on it. But with my mental health history+ the post partum, the added stress of only getting 2ml a session isnt worth it if that stress is being passed to my daughter. So tonight we're making the switch from some of both to just formula. And the weight that's been lifted off my chest is the most freeing thing. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2J7ZMou
