My son is genuinely one of the kindest and silliest people you will meet, always asking how your day was or if he can help, and making jokes but he isn’t making friends and want to help him out while he is still in elementary school. Most of the kids in his class play multiple sports year round so naturally they are pretty close knit. He really isn’t athletic and doesn’t enjoy sports, he says it’s because he is much smaller than most of the kids. At this age I think it’s still good to learn how to work on a team but don’t want to make all of us miserable! ( we tried (soccer, baseball, flag football) He enjoys playing the piano and has a love of video games which I support but I want a healthy balance of passion and getting him active and making friends in person.
