Kids and boundaries with parents / snooping

I have a 12 year old son who is really obsessed to know what we are doing if my wife and I go out, or she goes out by her self to hang with friends. He will always call , multiple times , very late , “where are you? Show me on FaceTime. When are you coming home ? What are you doing?”He has gone into our room many times without us knowing and found things he wishes he had not. Says he can’t help it he just “has to know”We are having a hard time setting the boundaries here. Maybe we/she needs to be home more? I have no idea what’s going on . Anyone else dealt with this?
