Are siblings better off if they each have their own room?

We have our first child on the way and we are looking to buy a house. There is about a 50% chance we would want second child. We can afford a house with 3 bedrooms so each child would have their own room, but we could save some money by buying a house where our 2 future kids would have to share a room. A third option could be to have them share a room until they are older and then move to a bigger house where they could have their own rooms.Do you think it would be better for the children if they each have their own room? My wife and I don't have siblings so we don't know. Which option do you think is best for the kids?
