So my daughter’s 6th birthday is coming up. She’s been thinking of her birthday wishes and has a list of three things she wants. All rather pricey. I’m trying to teach her about the value and cost of things. So I explained to her that she should think about what she would enjoy the most, because she simply can’t have everything. She wouldn’t probably be interested in it all for long enough to enjoy that many presents at it is. This is the conversation that unfolded.(Note she was using Japanese through the entire conversation, but the last line she delivered in English as is and her most serious tone.)Me: We can’t afford to buy you everything.Wife: Think about what you really want the most.Daughter: Well, what about my tooth fairy money?Me: You’ve lost two teeth. That’s not going to be enough.Daughter: How many teeth do I need to lose.Me: Just for the doll, 5 or 6 probably.Daughter: And the プリキュア? (Its a Japanese anime that’s popular with young girls but is mainly just a season long commercial to sell overpriced toys.)Me: Another 5 to 6 teeth. (She gets $10 per tooth. I remember getting $0.50... darn inflation) It’s too many teeth dear.Daughter without even pausing: How about I use your teeth? We died. 🤣🤣🤣Edit.
