So we were drowning in toys. She's the only grandchild on both sides and very spoiled, though I try to keep her down to earth. Kind donations from older girls around the neighborhood, purchases from family, friends, ourselves, and the whatnot of "I"ll keep all these cut scraps of paper she did when she was two because awwww" left us with a literal ocean of toys and junk that made it impossible to live in our house with any sense of calm, or have her play alone or with her friends without getting overwhelmed. My daughter and I tackled three rooms of toys she hasn't touched in over a year, two closets 3 bins high of toys and junk. Mind you, she is 4 years old. After sorting through it all and finally reuniting long-lost game and puzzle pieces, and completing sets of toys for sorting and baby items, she made trunk-load of toys for donation, re-organized all the tsum-tsums and toys like those, and made a special pile of her most favorite precious baby toys and items for our friend who is having her first baby. The rooms are now organized into ONE room, and the closets are actually empty. I couldn't be prouder. It took us 9 HOURS, with random short breaks to play the games we put together. She said to me tonight as a I put her to bed, "Mommy, I feel so much lighter. We can use rooms now, and it's so easy to play now. I'm happy we did that. Let's do it every year before Christmas." My husband came home and was flabbergasted. Kids of our area who have no toys, you're holidays are about to be full of cheer! via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2zfM5hK
