Husband is physically abusive to kids

My husband has always been a hands-on dad. He even took a few years off to be Mr. Mom including volunteering in classrooms, coaching, etc. Our sons are now 14 and 16 and he physically abusive to them. He has never laid a hand on them until now. It started when our 16yo started slacking off with chores, lied to get a second cell phone, etc. My husband confronted him and he mouthed off and my husband slugged him. He walked around with a black eye for a couple of weeks and refused to talk to his dad. Then the 14yo got smart with him and he grabbed him by the arms and slammed him against the wall and shook him violently. I separated them but my 14yo told me he's embarrassed to take off his shirt because there are bruises where my husband grabbed him. He has never been violent. This is all new. He says that he won't tolerate taking shit from a couple of spoiled teenagers and reminds us of how hard he works and how much he sacrifices. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2r5I5Mo
