what is your take on parents 'redshirting'? Did you redshirt your child?

Redshirting is when parents delay their kids entry so they gain an advantage in being older. There are lots of conflicting research on whether it is better or worse but it is becoming more and more popular. Wanted to see what parents here think about it.
