After a long 40 hour exercise our baby girl was finally born. All my life i knew id really want to be a dad at one point, especially to a baby girl. Couldnt be happier right now, except for one thing. My partners mother is staying with us as both our parents live overseas. She is helping to an extent but it seems shes trying to take over the role of mother from my partner. She bathes her and changes her whenever she feels like it. Bathroom is too cold and she makes my partner get her the heater. Shouldnt a mother or father be bathing their newborn? Carrying her around for hours on end.It is really overwhelming. Just then i was watching my daughter sleep and the dragonlady comes, picks her up and as a result wakes her because she wants to bathe her.I know she wants to get as much time in with her granddaughter as possbile but there are more important things than her needs. She should be here to help her daughter and not to take over the role of being mum. My partner has waited years to have her well deserved baby.Am i overreacting? Should i say something? Surely im not the only one who has troubles with this. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2d6O3bH
