First time my 2 yo daughter is going to daycare, any tips?

Hi all. We recently moved to Seattle and my 2 1/2 yo daughter is starting daycare in September. We visited the school and it seems like the kind of place she'll really enjoy. We are thinking about how to deal with the transition of being all the time in the house to going to the daycare every weekday. The drop-off time is around 8-9am and we can pick her up no later than 6pm. We were thinking about picking her up sooner than that (at around 1pm) during the first 2-3 days while she gets used to it and then after that I'll pick her off at 5pm when I get off work, but we don't know if this is such a good idea -- and we should rather just pick her off at 5pm from the start. Bear in mind that she recently had a baby sister (4mo) and we just relocated from New York so everything's changing for her. Also, she doesn't speak English that much (we mostly speak Spanish at home) so that's another thing she'll have to get used to -- although we plan to speak in English at home more often to get her used to that. Any suggestions? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/29TECKw
