I posted this in response to a question recently and thought it was important information to share here too. It's not something we ever want to think about but important we know what to look out for. This knowledge comes from training related to working with vulnerable children. For more detailed information or support seek out your local services. There are many reasons for changes in behaviour but if we notice a combination of signs it might be a sign we need to seek help. Here are some things to watch out for:- Sexually inappropriate behaviour- regression to younger behaviours (e.g bedwetting)- Fear of people or places that doesn't seem to have a reason- Not wanting to be alone with a particular person- Nightmares and sleep problems- Withdrawn- self-harm-running away- knowledge of sexual terms/acts without an obvious source-sudden personality change or moodswings- talk of a new older friend and unexplained gifts/money- changes in eating habits- becoming uncharacteristically secretive- physical injuries and frequent UTIs / bowel problems via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2pZSRH3
