I have a really sweet fifteen year old daughter, recently she's been asking a lot of questions about money and seems anxious about it. We are somewhat struggling financially and I've been fairly open about that, however I feel like I've made her feel like a financial burden because I found out about a school trip last week, that was never mentioned to me. I asked her about it and she said that she didn't want to ask me for money. It breaks my heart because it seems like something she would have loved, and I could have just about afforded it. There have been a couple of other situations like that where she didn't ask me for money when she needed something, for example last week when she was walking about barefoot I noticed her feet looked sore, and it came out that her school shoes were too small! Sacrificing a trip is one thing, but the fact she doesn't even feel like she can come to me for basic things makes me feel really bad. I'm not quite sure what to do about it though. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2Q8iVKS
