Stranger threatened to hurt my newborn, and now I’m scared to leave the house with her. Advice?!

So tonight while taking my colicky 5 week old newborn for a walk around my neighborhood I had the serious misfortune of running into an incredibly scary guy and now I can’t stop thinking about the whole thing. I was pushing my stroller past a Burger King drive through and saw that the sidewalk was completely blocked by a driver who was trying to make a left out of the lane. Traffic was supper heavy and there was no way he was making the turn any time soon. After realizing I couldn’t push my stroller behind his car because it was blocked by a low brick wall, nor could I get in front of his car because I would have I walk into oncoming traffic, I tried to signal to the driver to get his attention. I had no luck as he was looking the opposite direction. I figured he probably didn’t realize he was blocking the sidewalk making it impossible for pedestrians to get through. I gently tapped on the passenger side window and asked if he could back up a bit so I could get through, as he couldn’t make his turn at that time anyways. At this point he completely went off on me. Calling me a btch and telling me to go fck myself. And telling me to go behind his car. I was really in shock considering I wasn’t being rude to him, and technically it’s illegal to block the sidewalk with your car anyways. I told him I couldn’t simply walk behind his car because I had a stroller and it wouldn’t fit around his car and the drive through wall. He then told me he didn’t give a “fck about my stroller or my baby and he would get out of his car right then and “beat [my] baby’s ass!”. This psycho actually threatened to beat up my newborn because I asked that he move his car off the sidewalk. Scary!!! I swore back at him and he sped off, shouting out of his window that he would turn around and beat my baby. Thank god he didn’t act on any of his threats, but I’m seriously shaken up. What kind of person threatens someone’s innocent baby?!! Im a first time mom, and now I’m paranoid to even leave the house with my baby for fear of other crazy people out there. What if someone even more crazy hurts my baby?! How do I get over this?Note, I live in a pretty safe part of Los Angeles where stuff like this doesn’t normally happen. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2r4Ztny
