This is more of a vent-ish post. Tonight was the first night we sent the kids to bed hungry- without giving them something different to eat.My five year old son is an incredibly picky eater and barely eats dinners. My 3 year old daughter will mostly eat anything, but like my son won’t eat dinner.More often than not we’ll make something different for them to eat, mainly because I’m worried about them being hungry or not getting the nutrition they need. They survive off diets of eggs; chicken nuggets; pizza; and the occasional salami; cheese; and olives.Tonight I finally put my foot down and said we don’t own a restaurant and that from now on they either eat what we make for dinner, or go to bed hungry. Our pediatrician has said this before - but we never followed throughKids kept asking for something different because they didn’t want stuffed peppers (we gave them the meat; rice; onion mixture and some cut up peppers). My son did his fake “gagging face” after taking a bite. Needless to say, they didn’t eat it so they went to bed hungry. Now I feel like a piece of shit and a bad parent. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2OCCw3n
