first i just wanted to say thank you for all the advice and kind words! these seems like a great community!About two weeks ago, i posted about asking help for my morbidly obese step-son.Well, alot has happened (good and bad) but i think it'll all be for the best in the end.I talked with my wife about his health and while it was hard, we talked to him about it. He got a little emotional but was very receptive for help and I was so proud of him for it.We took him to his pediatrician and unfortunately got some bad news. At 14 and 5'8" he now weighs 557 pounds and has type two diabetes. While he was very devastated by that, his doctor reminded him that its not immediately life threatening and that he has time to fix this.My step-son prior had shown no ambition to lose weight but i think seeing he was over 500 pounds with diabetes really was a giant wake up call. His doctor laid out a diet and an exercise program that he can follow. Fortunately, because hes young and still pretty strong considering his size, he doesnt need professional supervision and can workout with me! Like i said in the previous post, im a bit of a fitness junkie, so i cant wait to teach him everything i know and of course spend quality time with him to further strengthen our bond! We've already had a few workout sessions and hes just killing it! Sure being his size, he has a hard time doing most things and he needs his breaks but make no mistake he doesnt quite. He always makes sure he finishes all his reps and workouts. And my god, i havent even mention the confidence he exudes when he finishes his workouts. His positive energy is infectious!I just cant put into words how fucking proud of him i am.Sure, There will be bumps and stumbles along the way but i so look forward to seeing my stepson grow (or should i say shrink lol) into the man he's gonna become.Anyway, im just a proud step-dad who wanted to brag about his step-son, hope thats ok to do here lol via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2qS1Xpu
