Don't know if I got the flair right, but here goes. It's grandparents' day at my son's school. My mother was supposed to be there, but she can't get here because of a work strike at the public transport company. His paternal grandparents were supposed to be there, too, but his granddad had an accident yesterday (luckily, nothing too bad) and he can't drive the car, so they're not coming either. And to top that off; I organized a party for my son's 7th birthday this afternoon and I have heard nothing from any of the invitees' parents. So my son has 2 parties today; a grandparents' day at school without grandparents and a children's birthday party without children.Since yesterday I had to tell him that no friends were coming to his party, and that my mother wasn't coming to school, and he even already left for school this morning before I heard his other grandparents weren't coming either, so he's only just now finding that out by not seeing them appear... I feel like such a big-time failure as a mom... And he's a great kid, he really doesn't deserve any of this... He deserves the biggest freakin' party in town...I am sorry if this is posted incorrectly, but I absolutely had to get this out... via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/33Hd2Iw
