Anyone else realize the character of your in-law family too late, and are worried for what your child will now be influenced by?

A little hopeless here, but I’m looking for advice on facing the realization that my in-laws are white trash in disguise, and how I now fear that my son will be influenced by my spouse’s side of the family. A little late to have this revelation? Yes, but it has become abundantly clear in only the last few weeks (but with strong hints and signs along the way). To preserve any shred of anonymity , specific examples can’t be shared....... but I feel like today is the first day of the rest of my life.
