Just needing a space to vent for a minute. After my son (6) came down with strep on Halloween and missed trick or treating, we said that had to be the end of our streak of colds and illnesses that started in August. Listening to him cry for a few hours while people knocked on our door and showed off their costumes was gut wrenching.We’ve had stomach bugs, viral infections, fever viruses, croup (with the 16 month old), and strep.We thought we were on the other side and planned a ton of fun things for this Thanksgiving week.But then my son started coughing and spiked a fever and tested positive for flu. He had the flu shot. Now he’s a mess.Just need a break. The two of them have essentially staggered their illnesses making the last 3 months an endless cycle of sick kids. My wife and I have taken off 17 days of work between the two of us.Doctor says it’s a bad string of luck and that my son actually has a strong immune system despite getting sick so often. His system fights illnesses hard which leads to higher fevers and harsher symptoms.I’m going to buy a bubble for Christmas. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/33hl6yk
