Rant: school supplies

School in our area starts in less than three weeks. Once again the exhaustive supply lists. And because US funding for schools is so low, we need not only our children’s supplies, but tissues, paper towels, disinfectant wipes, dry erase markers, etc.I am buying supplies for a 7th grader and 2 sophomores. The 7th grade helpfully has a list where you can just click on Amazon to populate the cart. It adds up to more than $250.Or I can drive all over town getting cheap folders from target, cheap notebooks from Walmart, etc.This is an annoyance, but not a financial crisis for me. But 75% of the families in my school district qualify for free or reduced lunch. These insane school supply lists are a huge burden for them. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2SwjQnq
