My son just used the potty by himself for the first time!

I am soooooo proud of my son right now!He was a little behind in potty training (hes 3 1/2 and very stubborn) and he just took off his training pants and used his potty by himself without any encouragement from me.He missed a bit but man am i so proud and happy! We've been working on potty training for months and have tried so many training toilets, toilet seats and even a urinal. He really hasn't wanted to try the toilet. He just started taking an interest in it on his own, taking down his pull ups and sitting on the potty but not going to the bathroom.I just wanted to share how proud i am of my son! Unfortunately it's about to rain and his dad had the car. His dad just dropped everything to come by to take him out to celebrate. This has been the hardest developmental step we've had with him. His school has been very vocal about their displeasure that he wasn't potty trained but I knew he'd eventually want to do it on his own.We started trying when he was 2 1/2 so it's been a year of parenting fails and we're just over the moon with excitement. As rough as parenting gets, these are the moments that remind me how blessed we are to have a child.Like many others I've had plenty of days when I didn't think I could do it and couldn't imagine that it got better. Those early years were so tough and today reminded me how amazing it is to be a parent. How his accomplishments almost put me in tears with happiness.I'm just so proud of my son!!!!!!! via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2XosHZ6
