How do you take vacations? There's no way this is possible, right?

We have a 3 year old and a 1 year old. We have no "home base" when it comes to family. My wife and I are both only children. We have the tiniest spattering of family in NY, CA and VA, and we live in TX. The point is, we don't get that nice family vacation where we go visit grandparents who have everything we need already in place. Anywhere we visit has no other small children visiting. We are starting from scratch no matter which destination we choose.That being said, we can't NOT go on vacation. These girls have to see something other than their local community. If I take a vacation with a 3 and a 1 year old girl to some random destination, how do I do it? It's a vague question but it just seems impossible. I have to fly somewhere which isn't going to have their beds, toys and supplies? This can't be possible! Yet I am sure that many of you are doing this.
