Yesterday we decided it was time to try out a toddler bed. I took my 2 1/2 year old son bed shopping, and he wanted the paw patrol one. We also picked out some paw patrol sheets. I hyped it up the whole time, telling him it was his big boy bed and it was like mommy and daddy’s bed. When my husband got home we all put it together, and let our son “help”. He was super excited about his new bed! I didn’t think he would actually sleep in it the first night, but we wanted to try. We did the regular bedtime routine, swapped the lock on the door, put him in bed, and told him what to expect for the night. He said “OK”. We left the room and went to bed. He slept until 6:00 AM! When he woke up he knocked on his door and called out for me. No screaming, no crying, no freaking out that everything was different. I can’t believe it went so well! I’m weirdly proud that my little boy is growing up and turning from baby to child.EDIT: Sorry for the formatting. I can see paragraph breaks during the edit but when I hit post they disappear. This hasn’t happened to me before. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2Xhs7O6
