Throwaway because. Recently I got to know a mom from the playground with a daughter around the age of my eldest(3), and I have witnessed her drip wax from a burning candle on her child as a form of discipline. She said that it’s a common form of discipline in her country, and it does not burn nor actually hurt the kids. Other than that, her children are evidently well-loved and doted on. I personally do not use any form of corporal punishment on my kids. Something else that worries me is that we live in a European country with “some sort” of legislation against corporal punishment.Should I just brush it off as something cultural? Bring it up?
