Daughters NP called CPS on me

Background:My daughter has been having consistent urinary m/vaginal issues since August-when she became fully potty trained. Protein in her urine, a few bouts of blood, and then last week had her first urinary infection. A few weeks before this, she had vaginal strep (I never even knew there was such a thing in kids). Both time she was prescribed antibiotics.Because of this, we have had to do a ton of urine samples at the pediatrician. Her doctor was keeping a close eye on things, and referred us to Nephrology at Boston Children’s hospital to make sure there wasn’t anything more significant going on. The appointment went well and the doctor didn’t think anything major was going on but wanted us to keep in touch with any changes.Well, this infection that she had a week ago was caused by a “rare” bacteria called Proteus. It’s pretty uncommon in children. Again, pediatrician wasn’t concerned. We finished our antibiotics and the symptoms were still there; cloudy, smelly urine, etc.So, I made an appointment for her for Monday. We see an NP who we had seen a few times for different reasons. The NP was insanely rude, telling me that she cannot think of a single reason why my daughter would have this bacteria, she needs an urgent referral to urology. Something didn’t seem right to me since I’m sure if it was something significant I would have heard about it sooner than a week later. When we got home daughter was screaming that it burned to pee so I brought her back to the ER since the pedi office was closed at this point. Urine was thankfully clear.Yesterday daughter developed a fever, and because of the persistent urinary issues I wanted to make sure she wasn’t developing another infection. We met with our regular pedi who is wonderful. She told me that the NP that we saw brought up some concerns for my daughter-the fact that she’s had so many tests done on her urine, the fact that some of the issues were dealing with are pretty rare in kids. My heart sunk-I knew where this was going. My pedi knows us pretty well and told me not to worry as the felt that this definitely wasn’t the case, and that we were going in the right direction as far as treatment and testing for my daughter. She told me she wasn’t concerned about the type of bacteria and didn’t understand why the nurse had told me it was so “rare” and needed urgent referral-pedi didn’t think it was necessary.Today:I get a call from CPS saying that a 51A had been filed against me for neglect of my 3 year old daughter. I immediately broke down in tears on the phone and had to compose myself. The caseworker said in his notes that my daughter has had 12 urinary tests done since August, urinary and vaginal issues are rare in kids, etc. and told me that he wants to meet with us next week to investigate. He told me he wants to hear my side of the story and to gather all medical records for my daughter. He was very kind and understanding.I don’t know what to do at this point. I’m a complete wreck. I have felt crazy having to bring my daughter back and forth to the doctor all the time for these issues, but we can’t seem to get to the bottom of what is going on with her. I dont know if they think I’m seeking excessive care or what. We have had to bring her to the pedi and hospital so many times for these issues. I feel like I’m falling apart. via /r/Parenting http://bit.ly/2Tlq5JU
