No matter how good a toy/gift you give your child is, it will be made 1000% better by actively participating with them using it

I just thought I'd make this post to share a realization I had a while back.I have one child, and I love her so incredibly much. I had the pleasure to be a stay at home dad for about 2 years before she went to school. During that time it was very tempting sometimes to just, give her something to do to keep her occupied while I did what I wanted.Setting her up to draw, blocks in front of Mr Rogers, learning to read on the tablet. All this stuff is great and definitely has it's time. But sharing in those experiences creates and reinforces a bond that is just invaluable.It doesn't matter what it is, just do it with them. I know parenting is hard, and there being something to keep them occupied while you can catch a breather is amazing. Just keep in mind that sharing the experience with them is what creates the long lasting memories. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2qTe6Y2
