So my son is 4 and in Pre-K. He's been deadset on making a friend, as set as a 4 year old can be. Everyday when he gets home from school he tells us about his day and always talks about his "best friend" John.So yesterday my son came home telling us John's birthday party is this weekend and he was so excited. Today my wife dropped off our son at school and noticed that in the kid's cubbies were birthday invitations, but not in every cubby. Well my son didn't have one in his. :(I never really thought about this before and how much I would hurt for my kid when they're left out of something. We didn't tell him about the non-invite and are just kind of hoping he will forget (no school tomorrow) that the birthday party is Saturday. But man, it really hurts that he has been so excited about this party and this particular kid being his friend then not get invited to the party.Moral of the story... If your grade school kid is inviting kids to their birthday from school, then give every fucking kid an invite. Most won't show up anyways, and if someone shows up they don't like then they can fake it for an hour, they'll get a present out of it anyways. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2qQnQ5e
