I live in a country where it’s so easy, affordable and common to hire one. They earn minimum salary, live in any tiny room you provide and dedicate their 24/7 for your entire household. Don’t expect high school degree, certifications or even tax paying though. They just came from small vilages to the city, doing the best they can do (taking care of household) to earn some money and send it back to their family in the village.I personally never think of it as an option. Since I’m a SAHM with a toddler and a newborn coming soon, living in a small apartment in the middle of the city. It’s not like I’m super busy and owning a mansion. But a lot of my friends and relatives do that. Some of them are working moms who leave their kids with the helper but can’t totally leave them without supervision. So they usually leave their kids with the nanny/maid plus grandparents to make sure the kids are safe. And a lot of my friends who are also staying at home, watching their kids but can’t live without having a helper staying with them all the time. It’s hard to tell whether one is really in need of help or just being lazy.Anyway, with such an easy living in this country, will you choose to enjoy the privilege? Or will you stay “unrealistic idealist” (the standard of hard working life here is also very low) not to hire one to make your life easier like everyone does? Because my family and friends keep calling me so for taking care of my family and household all by myself. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2JYrimW
