Daughter is concerned her friend will hurt herself

Tonight my 4th grade daughter asked to talk to me. She told me she was worried about her friend “B.” She said that B had a large cut on her hand (by her thumb) and when she asked her what happened B said she cut herself with a knife. B said she was sad and was going through “depressing times.” When asked if she hurt herself on purpose B nodded. My daughter was very upset telling me this and started to cry. She said she knew that this was something she had to tell to an adult. I emailed the adjustment councilor at school but school is out until Monday. I may have the family’s phone number somewhere (off an old birthday invitation) but so far I haven’t been able to find it. I don’t know what to do.
