My son said something to his mother, in public, regarding "foreigners" the other day. His opinion was that "they don't belong here, and should leave immediately".This greatly embarrassed her, and she tried to argue with him that immigration was OK, and that he should not judge people purely based on where they are from.He gave her attitude, and disregarded her argument. Now, he has picked this opinion up transiently from an older relative, and has no justification for what he is saying, other than repeating something from someone he looks up to.I discovered this information today, and rather than shout and punish him, I am trying to construct an argument that a pre-teen will understand to show him why he should not judge people based on their origin. So far I have the basics, such as doctors, nurses, teachers and all manner of vocations that we share with our immigrant/newly nationalised citizens. I will attempt to explain that we all have a right to contribute and receive services. Can anyone help me in translating this into something a pre-teen will understand? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2poIVov
