My child attacks his penis with reckless abandon.

Hello fellow Parents. I have an 11 month old son, and am a first-time father. He is awesome. I love being a dad! I wanted to keep this question light, but I am mildly concerned. We have a pediatrician checkup this week, so will be mentioning it then, but I thought I'd bring it up here as well. It takes a village, right?During diaper changing, for about the past month, my son will reach down and tug and claw his penis like it's attacking him. At first he seemed curious, and was just pulling and such. But lately I'm worried about how he treats it. He will leave some red marks and even starts crying at some points because I know he is starting to hurt himself.I'll redirect his hands to a stuffed animal or toy, or try and take his attention away, or tell him softly to be gentle, but that's not working too well.I could try the puritanical approach and sternly tell him "no! That's the devil's playground!" or remind him he will go cross-eyed if he keeps doing it.Those with infant sons, have you experienced anything like this? Any tips or advice on how to approach this? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2oU43jc
