Today in the car we didn't listen to Disney on Pandora. We didn't listen to a kids' station. No, today we listened to my folk station (mostly Joni Mitchell, Allison Krauss, Simon and Garfunkel, the Wailing Jennys, Cat Stevens, James Taylor, Carol King, etc) by their (3yo and 6yo) choice. It. Was. Awesome.I don't hate Disney or anything, in fact I love musicals, but I would rather get a splinter under my fingernail than listen to the Tangled soundtrack again. Or Frozen.Instead of Letting It Go for the nine thousandth time, Morning Has Broken, and April (Come She Will), You Got a Friend, my dear.Yes, I know it won't last, but for a grand total of about 40 glorious minutes these kids chose folk over Disney (and may or may not have been subliminally rewarded for making such good choices, ha)! via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2exS1aE
