Throwing stuff and hitting things

How do I get my 2yo to stop doing these things? It's not out of anger(usually), it's mostly just because he likes doing it. He's a happy active kid who I'm certain doesn't get enough outside time, but we do play and we get out of the house when we can. He just always seems to have boumdless energy and he expresses that by throwing things and hitting walls and furniture with stuff. He also throws things that he's been caught with that he knows he's not supposed to have. Like if I come around the corner and he's picked up something he's been told he's not supposed to have and I ask him to put it down he tosses it.When he finishes with a cup or container or carryable food he tosses it no matter how many times we've asked him to put it in the sink or trash when he's finished with it. After the fact, if we ask him to pick it up and put it where it belongs he's more than happy to do so, I'd just rathet he not throw it first. He also hits us when he's playing. He isn't angry or trying to be mean, I think he just really doesn't know how to express his excitment and desire to do something physical. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2eb4YHy
