I don't ever remember this being a thing when I was in school. My kid gets sent home with some sort of ad about once a week. Yesterday it was a little postcard from a dental office with a toothbrush attached. Why the hell is a public school giving my kid advertisements? It's not enough that literally every day the PTA messages everyone about some new fundraiser we're expected to donate to, or a book fair, or whatever money grab. But my kid's take home folder is covered in "sponsors". This isn't NASCAR sooo wtf?I get that schools are underfunded. My kid already raised $300 alone for a fundraiser this year. Is this business advertising thing just par for the course these days? I'm probably overreacting but I'm not really a huge fan of this...seems to bee a slippery slope. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2dFX2vs
