I'll try and keep this short. 2 weeks ago my 2 1/2 yr old son had strep. Went to his normal Dr and get antibiotics and everything went great. This last week he has been pretty moody/emotional, not sleeping well and not eating well either. Last night I looked in his mouth and the back of his throat was all spotchy red. I thought it may be hand-foot disease since another child at his daycare had been diagnosed recently.Went in to the clinic today, saw a different Dr. Things go good for the first few minutes. My son usually is anxious about Dr's, but he's doing ok so far. After about 30 seconds of the doctor looking in his mouth my son starts to get upset. I'm holding his leg and telling him it's ok and whatnot. My son gets upset and hits me. I tell him no, don't hit. And he goes to do it again and the doctor catches him arm, yanks it forward and almost yells, "We do NOT hit here." and holds my sons arm down, tightly to his side. The doctor then starts asking about if my son has behavioral problems, which I answer no, but give the last couple weeks he has been acting out and being emotional and that's why we're here - he hasn't slept/ate well and obviously doesn't feel good. The doctor responds by saying he's not sending my son back to get a throat swab because he doesn't want to subject his staff to my son, and takes it himself. He comes back 10 minutes later and says, "It looks fine. He doesn't seem to be dehydrated. Just have him keep drinking fluids." I try and talk but he turns around and leaves the room. At this point I'm pretty pissed. I walk out to the receptionist and ask how I lodge a complaint and she says you have to do it online.Thoughts? Is this normal? It's my second child and I've never been treated this way by a doctor. What would you do? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2dEyqGP
