My 3 year old (almost 4)'s preschool teacher accidentally left him outside about 2 min today.

I pick up my 2 year old first, at 2:15, then I walk over to the preschool wing to get my almost 4 year old who's out at 2:30. Today his teacher asked me to stay and wait so my first thought was "oh great he hit someone". After everyone left, she explained with tears in her eyes that they were out on the sidewalk playing with chalk (she has 11 kids usually but 10 present today); 1 of the parents arrived early, saw them outside and drove on up to get her child. The teacher directed the kids inside to the preschool wing-they were right by the door-and helped the little girl into the parent's car. She went back in and once in her classroom, a parent that was outside barged through the door and said, "another little boy is still out here, is he in your class??" Then she ran back out and found my boy :/ she said he was waiting by a bush right by the door. This was near a parking lot and not too far from the parking lot is a very busy road with cars zooming by. So she and I are both very shaken up. Teacher and her superior both filled out an incident report and handed it to me to sign stating I was made aware of what happened. Then she said they will make a report to the state with what happened and that I may get a call from DHS.What does DHS do in this type of situation...just ask me questions? Does this make me look bad as a parent in any way?? Hopefully not.I know mistakes happen but should I pull him out of school and find a school with an enclosed playground where the children are never having to be walked near a parking lot and street to get to an outdoor play area?? I would never forgive myself if he got hurt at a daycare when he could be safe at home with me instead. (Let's not do comments about stay at home moms shouldn't use a part time daycare, I want none of that judgement. Most SAHM's I know use a moms day out or part time school of some kind). My son didn't seem too scared. When I asked him what he did when he was outside alone he said he screamed very loud to be let back in. Poor guy!tl;dr: if my son s preschool teacher left him outside alone 2 min (and owned up to the mistake) does this warrant changing schools? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2eFvQQ6
