Dad is getting grumpy.

So, me and my kids (13m, 12f) are a pretty rambunctious bunch. We wrestle, annoy, have great conversations, get really loud. Yesterday, for example my son was playing guitar while we made up Trump and Hilary songs in the living room. We are singing our hearts out and laughing ourselves to tears.Dad comes out and tries to say something but we are laughing and don't quiet down. He gets upset that we're talking over him. It's not "angry" upset...it's very clear his feelings are hurt and he is frustrated he's not a part of our hijinks. However, he gets grumpy that we're talking over him and kind of goes into victim mode.I've told the kids that daddy doesn't want to yell over everyone (which is kind of how we talk to each other) and to try to just simmer down when he's talking. However, I also feel like dad should quit getting so butt hurt and understand it's not personal. We love him but when we're goofing off and having fun it's hard to just stop everything and be calm and quiet. We've tried to include him in our fun, but he just doesn't like the noise and craziness. He would much rather watch movies with the kids. This is fine, right, it bores the hell out of me so I either participate or not, but it doesn't hurt my feelings that they're snuggled up watching a movie without me.Anyhow, I don't really know what to do.Thought? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2eGPEkq
